Azle City Council and City Staff worked throughout the summer to prepare a budget for the new fiscal year that begins on October 1.
- A proposed budget was presented to City Council in August and City Council and Staff held a work session on August 8, 2023 to review and discuss the proposed budget and property tax rate.
- Public Hearings on the proposed FY 2023/2024 budget, property tax rate and water/sewer rates were held on Tuesday, August 14, 2023.
- On Monday, August 21, 2023, Azle City Council approved ordinances to adopt a budget (Ord 2023-11), set the tax rate (Ord 2023-12), and set water/sewer rates (Ord 2023-13) for FY 2023/2024. Azle water/sewer customers will see no increase in rates. The property tax rate for FY 2023/2024 was set at $0.5688744 per $100 valuation, which is a reduction from the prior rate of $0.623426. Individual taxpayers’ property taxes may decrease, increase or remain the same depending on changes in the appraised value of their property.
As a reminder, your overall property tax bill includes taxing amounts from the City of Azle, Azle ISD and various county agencies.

THE CITY OF AZLE ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 6.63% AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $-47.28.
