August 1 – November 1, 2019, S. Stewart Street will be closed to traffic from FM 730S to Timber Cross Ct to allow for street improvements. Raytech Services LLC is the contractor with Freese and Nichols as the engineers on the project. Weather permitting, the project should take about three months to complete.
Proposed roadway improvements:
• Realignment of the intersection at FM 730S, which will include straightening the road and lessening the steep slope approach to provide better sight distance.
• Roadway paving improvements to Azle city limits (Timber Cross Ct)
• Intersection safety improvements that include turn lanes on FM 730S
• Pavement markings and signage
This project is part of the 2016 Transportation Bond that Parker County voters approved to fund transportation projects across the county. Precinct 1 Commissioner George Conley has championed several of these transportation projects that benefit the residents of the Azle area – the signal lights at FM 730/Veal Station/Flatrock Rd, the S. Stewart Street project and the signal lights at FM 730/Main Street/Commerce Street.
