The Azle Fire Marshal’s office is a fully licensed law enforcement agency through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and is responsible for conducting a multitude of investigations in the following areas:
• Fire origin & cause
• Explosives and explosions
• Environmental violations
• Internal investigations
• Safety violations
After a fire, specially trained investigators arrive on scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
Investigators are cross-trained as police officers and firefighters and have received extensive training in criminal investigations and forensic crime scene investigations. In many cases, to bring violators to justice,
investigators work with federal, state, county and local agencies, such as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), the Tarrant County Arson Task Force and the Azle Police Department.
