Summer Reading

Libraries Rock this summer! Join us from June 8 - July 25 for a summer of reading, music, and lots of fun! We have programs for all ages. General information on our programs online (PDF). Check the Children's, Teen, and Adult program pages for details on each level. All reading logs are due by July 25 before 6 PM.

Non-Fiction Addiction Book Club

First Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM
The Library is excited to announce the beginning of a new non-fiction book club for adults! Join us for lively discussion and get to know fellow readers. Meets in the Library Community Room.

Family Film Friday

First Friday of each month at 4:00 PM (Plus Each Friday in June/July)
Join us each month for a family friendly movie in the Library Community Room. Fresh popcorn provided free of charge. All ages welcome, but children under 8 and under must have a parent or adult guardian with them at all times. Sponsored by the Azle Library Trust.

Toddler Tales Storytime

Every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:00 am 
Toddler Tales (PDF) is a participatory program for parents/caregivers and children ages 18-36 months. We will enjoy books, songs, finger plays, felt board stories and crafts. The program is repeated on Wednesdays and Thursdays so that you may choose the best day that fits your schedule. NOTE: Summer storytime takes place on Wednesdays only beginning June 13, through July 25. Regular Fall Storytime will resume on September 5.

Preschool Storytime

Every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:45 am 
Preschool Storytime (PDF) is a participatory program for both parent/caregiver and child, with the 3-6 year old child in mind. We will enjoy books, songs, finger plays, felt board stories and crafts reflecting a weekly theme. The program is repeated on Wednesdays and Thursdays so that you may choose the best day that fits your schedule. NOTE: Preschool Storytime will end on April 26 for the season. We will resume on Wednesdays only beginning June 13, through July 25.

Snap Circuits Club

Second Tuesday of every month from 4:30-5:30pm
Ready for some Electric Excitement? It's a Snap at our Snap Circuits Club. Work in teams to make cool stuff while learning about electronics. There will be new projects every months and lots of fun. We meet the second Tuesday of each month from 4:30-5:30 PM. For ages 8-12. See the Flyer (PDF)for more details.

READ to a Dog

Second Saturday of every month from 2-3:30 pm
Children of all ages will be able to read to a certified therapy dog in order to improve their reading skills. Takes place in the Library Community Room. Come-and-go. 

What's Cookin'?

Second Monday of every other month at 4:30 pm
Learn Cooking techniques, discover new recipes, and sample tasty foods at this monthly program held in the Community Room.

Main Street Book Club

Third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm
Adults of all ages are welcome to attend and discuss the book selection for the month. Takes place in the Library Community Room.

Brick it Up! LEGO Club

Third Wednesday of every month from 4-5:00 pm
For ages 5-12. LEGOs are provided by the library - the children supply the creativity! Takes place in the Library Community Room. 

Senior Cinema

Last Monday of every month at 2:00 pm
Adults of all ages are invited to watch a blockbuster hit in the Library Community Room. Fresh Popcorn provided free of charge. Sponsored by the Azle Library Trust.

THHSC Program Sign-Up Assistance

 Fourth Thursday of every month from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Library foyer
A Benefit consultant will be available to help families sign up for SNAP/Food Stamps, CHIP, Children's Medicaid, TANF, and any other Texas Health and Human Services Commission program . Questions? Contact the Library at 817-444-7216 and ask to speak to the Children's Services Librarian.
