Overview

Currently, the Azle Fire Department protects about 30,000 people and covers 8.2 square miles of city limits and approximately 20 square miles in unincorporated Tarrant County. We also have some response area in Parker County. We currently respond from one station located at 900 Lakeview Dr.

Under the direction of Chief T. (Will) Scott, the Azle Fire Department has an Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, eighteen (18) paid professionals on three shifts, and six (6) part-time professionals. Fire / EMS crews consist of a minimum of five (5) personnel per day that work a 48 hour on / 96 hour off shift.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Azle Fire Department offers a full range of fire service capabilities to the City of Azle and parts of surrounding unincorporated Tarrant County through contract with the Tarrant County Emergency Services District. These duties include fire suppression, rescue, Haz-Mat, fire prevention, inspection services, Fire Code enforcement, investigation, and safety training.

In addition to fire duties, the Azle Fire Department also provides emergency medical services to the City of Azle and parts of the surrounding county areas. All shift personnel are medically trained and our ambulances are equipped with state of the art medical equipment.
