Community Waste Disposal

The City of Azle has contracted with Community Waste Disposal to provide for the collection and disposal of residential, commercial and industrial garbage and recycling materials within the city limits of Azle. This contract prohibits any other company from collecting and disposing of all residential and commercial acceptable waste and recyclable materials within the city limits.

Schedule

Residential garbage service is twice weekly and recycling collection is once weekly for all residential customers inside the City limits. Garbage service is established when you establish your water and wastewater service. Your service schedule will be provided to you at that time.

Garbage must be placed at curbside by 7:00 am to ensure pick up and may not be placed for collection earlier than 7 p.m. the day before the scheduled day for collection. Each residential customer must use containers (disposable or permanent) sufficient in number to hold the garbage and trash. Each container cannot be larger than 33 gallons and weigh no more than 50 pounds when loaded.

Pick-up Guidelines

On your first trash service day of the week, CWD collects all bagged and containerized trash, recyclables and bundled brush. Brush and tree limbs must be tied in bundles not to exceed 4 feet (4’) in length and 50 pounds in weight. All vines and thorny bushes must be placed in disposable containers.

On your second collection day, CWD will also pick up bulky items (appliances, furniture, fencing in 4’ x 6’ sections, small amounts of construction material resulting from homeowner do-it-yourself projects containerized or tied in bundles not to exceed four feet (4’) in length and 50 pounds (no contractor construction debris)) and bagged leaves (limit 10 bags per week) in addition to trash and bundled brush (not to exceed 2 cubic yards per week).  Bulky items should not be placed at the curb more than seventy-two (72) hours prior to your scheduled collection date.

Important Note: In accordance with Federal laws, items containing freon, such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners, must be properly discharged and tagged before collection. Contact a State licensed technician. Search under “Air Conditioning”.  

Handicapped Customers

Handicapped customers, who have provided certification to the city from a physician as to their inability to carry containers to the curbside, may place their containers at the front doorstep or next to the garage door so as to be visible from the street. Community Waste Disposal employees cannot enter or be responsible for entering garages or behind enclosed fences.

Pickup of Loose Brush

CWD will provide once monthly service for curbside collection of unbundled brush not to exceed 20 cubic yards (8’ wide x 3’ 5” high x 21’ length). Collection will take place from Wednesday - Friday. (Please refer to the map to determine which week your area will receive brush pickup.)  

It is the intent of the Contractor to recycle the collection of monthly brush. Proper preparation of unbundled brush shall have all limbs with the trunks facing the street at a 90 degree angle. No limbs shall be greater than six (6) inches in diameter, weigh more than 50 pounds or be more than 15 feet in length. The brush pile must be free of all foreign debris. Some examples of foreign debris are: lumber, furniture, appliances, chain link or barbwire fencing.

Rates

The City’s contract with CWD allows for an annual market adjustment each February 1st based on the percent of increase in the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all DFW Urban Consumers as published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.
